Board and Division Coordinator
The Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), representing over 30,000 structural engineers global is currently seeking a coordinator to provide administrative and clerical support to the SEI Director and the Technical Activities Division Committees.
Summary of Major Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical duties necessary to efficiently run and maintain the Institute, including division activities, special projects, and activity coordination for SEI of ASCE and assisting SEI Director.
Schedule Technical Activities Division Level Committee meetings and handle meeting arrangements and coordinate logistics with SEI Conference and Meeting Manager and other SEI and ASCE Staff as required
Support and coordinate Technical Activities Division ExCom and Committee applications, rosters, meeting minutes, and activities as required to support SEI Director
Process committee membership applications and other support (e.g. roster changes, reimbursement forms, outgoing committee chair certificates (annually)
Routine clerical (meetings, mail, filing, correspondence, phones, copying)
Direct administrative support to the Director on as needed basis and will supplement other SEI Staff during periods of high workload.
Ideal Candidate will have:
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, expertise in the programs in general use throughout the Society, including Outlook and MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), and should also have familiarity with the Society’s membership and events management systems, sufficient to perform look-ups and obtain information.
Bachelor’s degree with administrative experience preferred.
Association or volunteer management experience also desirable.
Position requires travel to conferences and some committee meetings and requires moderate physical effort. Handles/lifts medium weight packages or equipment (parcels, bundles of mail, reams of paper, etc).
