Customer Service Associate

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

The American Planning Association is seeking a fantastic, friendly, patient, can-do, flexible, and team-oriented individual to handle customer service and other tasks related to the National Planning Conference. This is a temporary, hourly position and is expected to run from early-January through late-April 



WORK RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Managing large amount of incoming calls and email inquiries.
  • Assist customers with online registration process, changes and cancellations.
  • Assist with entering and editing of registration data within iMIS database.
  • Review name badge and mailing information and make edits as needed.
  • E-mail confirmations.
  • Assemble pre-registration packets for mailing.
  • Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.




  REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven customer support experience.
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong technical abilities.
  • Experience with various social media applications and techniques.
  • First-rate organizational skills, multiple task coordination, time management, and a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Experience with iMIS database and non-profit associations a plus.
