Education Manager

The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) is the world’s largest composites industry trade group. By delivering invaluable education and events, access to market intelligence, and by working with regulators and legislators, ACMA serves as the center of expertise and competence and an essential driver of industry growth and prosperity.

We are seeking a fulltime Education Manager to join our team located in Arlington, VA.

POSITION SUMMARY

Manages the association’s education offerings to generate non-dues revenue for the association while increasing the overall reputation of the association educational offerings in the industry. Educational offerings include, but are not limited to, the educational content at in person and online events, ACMA Bookstore, Learning Management System, manuals and training tools, online content, and other educational materials for purchase.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plays leadership role with the Sr. VP of Events and Information and Certification Director to develop educational content for the association’s members and the composites industry.

Stays apprised of composites industry knowledge and trends. Makes recommendations on needed education topics and events which elevate the reputation of ACMA education and events within the industry.

Sits on the Education Committee

Identifies the educational offerings online, in print, and at workshops and conferences for the association.

Develops and implements operational plans for the education program each year.

Develops educational program for the yearly trade show and convention, as well as other conferences and workshops. Includes speaker management activities for annual trade show and convention, vertical market conferences, webinars, as well as other offerings such as poster sessions and the ACE/CAMX awards programs.

Develop and manages the online content delivery system and testing, used for both certification and educational offerings.

Develops and manages program budgets for online sales/LMS and webinars. Sets goals and creates needed reports to monitor and report progress of budget goals.

Works with Marketing Manager to promote and sell educational offering, including conferences, workshops, CAMX, and print items.

Works with Coordinator, Operations to ensure that they fulfill bookstore/LMS orders and understand the LMS system.

Travels to ACMA meetings and makes customer/sales visits as necessary (approximately 3-6 times a year).

Promotes benefits of association membership to non-members participating in educational programs; or routes to other staff for such promotion.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic understanding of manufacturing and materials science/engineering a plus. Some sales or members/customer service experience also beneficial.

Knowledge of best practices and trends in educational programming, online delivery of education and certification programs.

Creativity and strategic thinking.

Excels in a self-driven and team environment.

Customer service orientation.

Familiarity with electronic communications/web sites.

Understanding of association databases, experience with NetForum preferred.

Ability to interpret, analyze, organize and apply association policies, objectives, and operations requirements.

Exercise independent judgment and decision making, as well as the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Establish working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of people.

Communicate and present ideas effectively orally and in writing.

Familiarization with the composites industry.

Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and Access.

Exercise proper telephone etiquette.
