Status: Part time, 20 hours per week, remote position
Compensation range: $25-28 per hour, depending on experience
Investigative Reporters and Editors is searching for a highly-motivated and detail-orientated individual who brings 2-4 years of event experience to join our non-profit association. The Events Coordinator will support activities and logistics for conferences, workshops, and other training events for IRE, which provides training and resources for journalists worldwide. In this role, the candidate should be able to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills by assisting the director of events, other IRE staff and members. - Provide support for the Director of Events by coordinating logistics for regional workshops and other training events including contacting speakers, working with hosts, coordinating travel, gathering information for the website and printed materials for each workshop, and follow-up after events.
- Provide conference assistance for IRE's two national conferences each year, including working with speakers, the mobile conference app, conference website and other items.
- Provide back-up support for registration and membership processing, and other areas as necessary.
This is a remote position, working from a home office. The candidate must have access to and be able to provide reliable internet and cell phone service.
Qualifications and Expectations:
At minimum an
associate’s degree and 2-4 years of event experience. This position requires
the ability to work independently while fulfilling responsibilities in an accurate
and timely manner. A qualified candidate will have an attention to detail and
have the ability to move between tasks easily. Other requirements include experience
using Microsoft Office including a working knowledge of spreadsheets, Adobe
Acrobat, strong writing and verbal skills, organizational skills and working
with our members, speakers and workshop attendees. The ability to travel to
both conferences each year (March and June) is necessary.
