ASME generates approximately $110 million annually from the sale of products and services and provides a wide range of mission focused programs and activities. We are currently seeking a Manager, Conference& Events in our office in New York City.
The Manager, Conferences & Events will oversee 3-5 conferences per year with attendance ranging from 300-3,000. Working closely with the Managing Director of Conferences, other ASME staff and volunteer committee members, the Manager will be responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of assigned conferences and events.
Budget preparation and forecasting
Registration (pre and post registration procedures)
Hotel specs and BEOs
Liaison with Conference Tool Box
Forums and special events
Maintaining a historical database of each event and providing financial reporting
Exhibits and Sponsorship
Assist in the development, production and execution of promotional/marketing materials for each event
Management of on-site temporary personnel
Post-conference evaluations for all conferences
On-Site Conference Management
Billing Reconciliation and Post-Conference Management
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least 7-10 years of meeting planning experience both domestic and international. Association experience is preferred. Superb organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to oversee multiple events concurrently a must. Strong contract negotiation skills, along with excellent communication, initiative & follow-up skills essential. Travel is required.
