SummaryAndaz Maui is situated on Maui's premier southwestern coastline, on 15 beachfront acres along Mokapu Beach in Wailea, one of the most sought after leisure and resort destinations in the world. The luxury resort community of Wailea includes a 1.2 mile-long oceanfront beach path connecting five crescent-shaped, golden-sand beaches, a premier shopping center and distinguished restaurants.
The Event Services Manager will be responsible for all Events, including the Feast at Mokapu, the award-winning lu'au. They are responsible for shaping the event experience through passion, style and personal spirit. Service will be thoughtful and unobtrusive, yet focused and efficient. The Event Services Manager will be responsible for leading a dynamic department of individuals and manage all logistics related to hotel events including event room set-ups, food and beverage service, and maintenance of all banquet equipment. They are also responsible for all operational oversight of the Feast at Mokapu, including maintaining a budget, hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, marketing and building relationships with third party sales clients. This role is highly detailed and requires creativity, intensity, and a high level of service orientation.
The Event Services Manager Responsibilities may include:
- Supports and Manages the Event Services, Event Setup, Event Beverage and lu'au departments while working closely with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments.
- Supervise, Empower, Lead, Coach and Motivate the Event Services and Event Setup team including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants towards achieving exceptional guest service results and complete associate engagement
- Full oversight of the Feast at Mokapu, the resort's award-winning lu'au experience. This includes but is not limited to: training, scheduling, coaching, building guest reservations and seating charts, communicating setup needs, ensuring guest satisfaction, coordinating with marketing, analyzing and leveraging opportunities to increase profitability, relationship building with third party sellers, increasing service metrics, etc.
- Ability to assist the hotel in reaching top box service scores on our Meeting Planner surveys. Ensure thorough communication and understanding with guests and other departments by reviewing Event Services Event Orders. Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage and meeting specifications
- Responsible for proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs and taking action when needed to address opportunities
- Responsible for ensuring coordination and execution of all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Events, Event Setup and Beverage
- Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, professional appearance
- Responsible for developing innovative and creative décor for Event function space
- Responsible for short and long term Event Services functions in the front and back of the house
- Responsible for leading meetings to review all functions with supporting departments bi-weekly
- Creates an environment establishing highest standards of quality service and ensures implementation through effective hiring, training development, promotion and continuous reinforcement.
- Administrative tasks may include but is not limited to the facilitation of payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, billing accuracy, inventory and budget for food and beverage functions
- Performing daily walk-throughs in the Event Services department and all function space and storerooms to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
- Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
The salary range for this position is $77,000 to $95,000. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
- Full Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule
- A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
- Candidates should be extremely creative, innovative, detail oriented and organized
- Hotel experience and a thorough understanding of all levels of event services
- Previous experience as an Event Services Manager/Assistant, Event Services Captain or Event Services Supervisor preferred
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, strong developer and trainer and effective in providing exceptional customer service
- Valid Maui County Liquor Certification Card
