Company Overview
The New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc. (NYSSA), is over 100 years old. It is an organization of physicians dedicated to advancing the specialty of anesthesiology and providing the safest and highest quality patient care to the citizens of New York State. The NYSSA is a component society of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). The NYSSA is a non-profit professional association 501(c)6. The history of the organization can be traced to 1905 as the Long Island Society of Anesthetists.
The NYSSA launched its first annual meeting (PostGraduate Assembly– “PGA”) in Anesthesiology in 1945 to assist physicians returning from World War II. This year, the PGA will hold its 69th Annual Meeting. The PGA has evolved into an international meeting with approximately 5,000 attendees, the best speakers from the world and approximately 30 percent of its attendance coming from the international community.
